AKValley.com Blows Up
the Ford City Bridge

AKValley.com won the right to blow up the old Ford City Bridge by placing the high bid on an Ebay auction. The demolition took place at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 6th, 2000. Left - AKValley.com founder Darren McPhilimy (with Chief Ken "Mitch" Mitchell) initiates the implosion.

The second auction for the final demolition on Sept. 12 was won by Tracy Scholar. Click here to see pictures and video of the final demolition.
