Denise Shean has worked as a graphic designer for over 20 years in editorial and advertising design, as well as in pre-press and production, for the Valley News Dispatch and the affiliated Trib Total Media newspapers.

The variety of jobs she has held within the newspaper industry enables her to share her extensive knowledge and experience in typography, layout design, and design software. She has a special affinity and fascination for Mid-20th-Century graphic design and its history and enjoys incorporating it into her lesson plans as an example of its timelessness and elegance.

She is a graduate of Oakbridge Academy of Art with a degree in Visual Design and holds a Bachelor's degree in English from Duquesne University.
